The Kleptomaniac Dog

Okay...our dog Cooper is a kleptomaniac!

We have had a problem with our dogs getting out. They would dig under the fence and escape just to lay in the front yard. That is right...our dogs wouldn't go anywhere. They just wanted to be in the front. According to the neighbors, the pups never go anywhere and just play with the kids. They don't bother anyone and stay right at home. Amazing....except the fact that we were tired of having holes in our yard. So, we fixed that problem and they are no longer digger. However, Cooper is now big enough to jump the gate. That is right...he leaves his sister in the back yard and goes out on the town. He still stays right here, but now he has started collecting gifts for us!

Last night we came home to find Cooper in the front yard. As we drove into the driveway, he led us to the back gate and showed us his pile gifts! 8 or 10 newspapers, a pair of kid crocks, a flip-flop and a Nintendo DS! Luckily, we found the owners of all shoes and games. The newspapers...we threw away. But HOLY COW!!! Our dog is a Klept! haha!!!!

31 Days to 30 & an Ultrasound

Travis' 30th is this Saturday. To celebrate the big 30 I have given him little gifts all month. Each day he opened a small present like playdough, bouncy balls, gumball machine, water balls, candy, etc. Every week he got a bigger gift. One week he got his reserve repacked for skydiving. Another he got a game of golf with his dad. He also got a day at the driving range and a watch. This past weekend he got to go skydiving for the first in almost 4 years. He use to skydive all the time in college and after. He was an instructor for skydiving even. He would look up at the sky every once in awhile and say, "Today would be a perfect day for skydiving." But he wouldn't go. First of all, he needed to get his reserve repacked and the closest drop zone is a little over an hour from us. Anyway, I finally got him up there! :) He did a recurrency jump (since it had been so long) with an instructor and then he went up in a 12 way. That basically means he was one of 12 people who planned a jump together and made formations together in free fall. He did so well and we had a great day! Here is a picture of me pushing him out of the mock plane, his first landing and practicing with the 12 way. We have a video of his second landing, but it isn't working right now. I will post it when we figure out what is wrong. Enjoy!

Today we went for a 4D ultrasound, but Jayden was being a brat! She is in the perfect birthing position, but that doesn't make for very good pictures. She was face down, head down and the only part of her body that she made VERY visible was her girl parts! Ugh....doesn't she know that is what she is NOT suppose to show off?! Oh well...we are going to try again in a couple of weeks. We are handling the diabetes just fine and dealing with the shots. We have (yet again) changed the dosage and we hope this helps to even things out. My numbers are either really good or really bad...so we will see. Jayden is 5 lbs 7 ounces right now, so she is right on target. We learned today that with the diabetes, the babies lungs develop slower. So...we are going to try and bake this baby until 39 weeks and then induce. We are still looking at July 7th for the due date! Yay!!

Showers and Doctors

We had our first baby shower this weekend. It was so much fun! Everyone was so generous and the hostess were so sweet! We ended up getting a lot of clothes and most of the bigger items. I'm sooo excited to get my little baby into those cute little outfits! :)

I went to the doctor today and the visit was good. My blood sugar numbers are really good and they are even lowering my insulin dosage! They measured the fluid around the baby and it all looks good. They usually start to put you on the monitor, to watch the baby's heartrate and movements for about 20 minutes, at 34 weeks, but since I am on insulin they started me this week at 32 weeks. 7 weeks to go at the most!!! It is so nice to know that the baby will be here by a certain day...

Next week we get to go have the 4D ultrasound done! Yay! Travis is really looking forward to verifying that our baby is indeed a little girl...and not a boy. :)

And We're Back!!

I know it has been a long time since I last posted. I'm sorry! Things around here have been a little crazy.

I have been diagnosed with Gestational Diabetes. At first we were trying to control it by my diet. After a week of that the doctor decided I needed insulin. So then I started giving myself insulin injections twice a day (at 5pm and 9pm). After one week of that, my numbers were still too high after lunch so they changed my dosage and I started giving myself injections once in the morning and once at night. Two days later, my blood sugar started crashing after breakfast and I was getting dangerously low. They changed my morning dosage again and it seemed to work a lot better. At my doctor appointment yesterday, the doc said that my numbers still aren't where he would like to see them, so he drew some blood for an AC1 test (I think that is what it is called). When we get the results from that he will decide whether I need to start taking some oral medications along with the insulin injections. Good news...I only have 8 more weeks at the most (we are inducing at least one week early).

Overall, I feel great! I have been having some brackston hicks contractions. They say the last two months are the most uncomfortable...all I have to say to that is...AMEN!!! I'm so ready for this little girl to join us on the outside!

Even though I am getting a little impatient...we have so much to look forward to in the next few weeks. We have our first baby shower this coming weekend and then another one in June. In two weeks we are going in for our 4D ultrasound. I am so excited to get to see her again and Travis is in some desparate need of verification that we are indeed having a little girl...not a boy! He is pure entertainment during this process! :)

Bump Patrol

We are 29 weeks today! Woohoo! 10 weeks and our baby will be here. We are inducing on July 7th because of the diabetes. I'm so excited to have her here and see what she looks like. Here is an updated picture of my belly...

Bad News...But With a Good Twist!

So...as all pregnant women do...I was tested for gestational diabetes. Guess what?!? I WIN! Yup...that is right, I have it! We did the one hour test, which consists of drinking 50g of a sugar/water mixure drink and waiting an hour for them to draw my blood. Usually, if you fail the one hour test, you have to go back in and do the 3 hour test (drinking more liquid and waiting for 3 hours). However, they spared me the 3 hour test because my numbers were so high. The normal numbers are between 65 and 139. Mine were 235!! Holy Cow!!!! They were all so surprised that I got it because I don't fit the profile in any way. I have always had trouble with my blood sugar levels, so honestly, I'm not completely surprised that I was the one out of all the sisters to get it! Anyway, I get to test my blood 4 times a day and eat a very strict diet. Strict in this situation doesn't necessarily mean the same thing over and over (I can be creative), but it does mean that I have to eat a certain amount of specific food groups. You would be surprised how much food I have to eat...I had a hard time eating everything I was supposed to today...and that is saying something for a prego!

It really isn't all bad. They will induce me early. The goal is July 7th. So, Mom might actually get to be here for the delivery. (I say MIGHT because that is only 3 days before she flys out to Zambia and I would not blame her one bit if she decided it was too much to try and make it!)

I don't get to go to camp in June anymore. :( That makes me very very very sad! My doctors said that they don't want me traveling that close to delivery especially with diabetes. So, I am staying home and Travis is going to camp (don't worry, my husband is not abandoning me...he asked me what I would want him to do). This actually gives me the opportunity to spend some more time with my big sister (the first one) Kari Ann. She still has to see if it will work, but I have invited her down to spend the week with me while everyone else in the family is off having fun at camp. I am excited about the chance to spend more time with her. It isn't very often I get my sisters by themselves (without the other sisters...haha...did you really think I mean without the kids around...you are crazy)!

Anyway, the statistics and "side effects" that go along with gestational diabetes (GD) are a mix of good and bad:
1) 90% of all women who have GD go back to normal within 6 weeks of delivery.
2) women who have had GD have a 65% chance of getting Type 2 diabetes within 10 years.
3) the baby has so much extra fat that they are bigger than normal (causing early delivery)

Those are just to name a few.

Great Week & Tired Husband!

As Travis wrote in the previous post, I was in Arlington all week watching my nephews while Juli Beth and David were at work. My mom usually watches them, but she went sailing with my dad and his brother Floyd. So, I was fortunate enough to go up to Arlington for the weekend to help take care of JB's boys. I loved it! We had so much fun! Lafe spent the night with me on Sunday night and Wade spent the night with me on Thursday night. Joseph never did, but of course, he is only 1 year old...his time will come! :) All three boys were so wonderful and they are such a joy to be around! I loved getting to spend soo much time with them. Before I headed up to Arlington, I stopped by Waco to visit Lara Jane and pick up the crib that she is letting me use for Jayden. I spent the night there Saturday night and got to spend most of Sunday with them. It was so much fun getting to play with all four of her kids and get to chat with my sister. I don't usually get to spend individual time with each family so this trip was very special!


While I was gone, Travis (as he wrote in the earlier post) was busy painting and tiling our bathroom. He worked sooo hard!! He put so many hours into this project and really did such an awesome job. The only thing he didn't finish in there was the grout, but even so, he got most of that done too! He ROCKS!! The pattern of tile is amazing and the paint turned out so pretty! It looks like it came out of a magazine!


Travis had some help. His parents came over on Saturday to help paint and they gave him a night a rest on Wednesday. They brought over dinner for him and helped him tile. It makes me feel so good to know they were here to keep him company and help him out. I felt bad leaving him here to do all the work! He did such an awesome job though! He let Judy go get some decorations for the bathroom too. He picked out some of the stuff too, so I have to give him props! :) It looks so great! I'm so excited to get to take a bath in our new bathroom! :)

AFTER: Today we went and took a tour of the hospital maternity ward. After that, we met Travis' mom at Babies R Us. Travis' parents wanted to get us our crib bedding for our gift. So, we picked that up today and a changing table. We weren't going to get a changing table, but we finally found one that we both like and didn't cost too much. Yay! After some more hard work from my wonderful hubby...our nursery has furniture and it looks like this...

House Work & Mischevious Dogs

So Jana is in Arlington for the week, leaving me home alone to get some projects done around the house. For those of you feeling sorry for me... we planned this because I don't want her around the paint fumes and dust and debris while I remodel the bathroom.

That's right, I've tackled the batroom, in which we plan to paint the walls and tile the floors. I believe Jana mentioned in a previous post that we decided to do a patterned tile floor, which just adds to the complexity of what I am trying to get done.

Mom and Pop came over Saturday and generously spent their time helping me with stage 1. It WAS going to be to paint over the awful wallpaper in the batroom, but quickly turned into removing the wallpaper, then painting. We got a surprising amount done in the day, and we found out just how complicated it was going to be. The bathroom has high cielings, but the closets and the toilet room are boxed out, making shelf like structures under the gable of the upper roof.... if you can't picture that... bottom line... NOT easy to paint.

Add to that a textured paint that requires the second coat be hand applied by brush and you have a very sore Travis on Sunday morning.

Sunday I tackled the tile, well kinda. I managed to get all the tiles in the pattern cut, and that's about it. Not to say I didn't do my share on Sunday... that also included finishing the painting, starting demo on the floors in the bathroom and mowing the lawn.... which brings me to the dog portion of this post.

I have now come to the conclusion that Cooper likes to sabotage my yard work. As I mow the back yard the dogs sort of run away from whatever area I am mowing and watch me intensely from seclusion. I have to keep a watchful eye on the grass in front of me for dog toys, balls, sticks and rocks the dogs have managed to dislodge from the flower beds.

Well this Sunday Cooper kept grabbing the balls I would toss out of the way, and cary them to a spot I had not mowed yet and drop them. He added big sticks to this by about half way through, so every few feet I was clearing SOMETHING else from in front of the mower. Each time I did, Cooper looked dissapointed... it was if he wanted to see a big bang!

Well he got his wish when I ran over a tennis ball that was burried in the grass as I came around a corner. There was a loud pop, and a mangled tennis ball shot out from under the mower. Cooper looked thrilled! He grabbed the remains and took off running with them. It is now his favorite toy, and he and Nikki wrestle over it constantly.

Cooper's Snake...I mean Snack

As most of you know...we had Cooper fixed on Monday. He did awesome! All the ladies at the vet's office just bragged about how well he did and how affectionate he is. They love him in there and he loves them! He hardly notices Mom when we go to the vet.

Anyway, Travis was a little worried about whether Cooper was going to still act tough and manly after his little surgery. Well...we have no more worries about Cooper's masculinity...

HE ATE A SNAKE!!!!

That is right...I put him in the back yard for about 5 minutes and when I went back out to give the dogs water...here comes Cooper with a snake hanging out of his mouth!! As soon as I reacted..."Cooper! No!!" He gobbled it up as quick as he could, so I couldn't even see what kind of snake it was. It was hilarious! He has been casually enjoying a snack and when I interupted he scarfed it down! The snake was HUGE! I mean...the part that I saw hanging out of his mouth was the very end of the snake...just thinning out into the tail, but it was at least 6 inches long! I'm guessing the snake was at least a foot long...head included.

I was so proud of him (and knew his Opa would be too)...but as we were laying in bed last night...still in shock at the fact that our puppy ate a snake...out of the blue I said, "Aw...now I'm feeling sorry for the snake." Yup...my pride for my little boy did not hold down my need to care for everything!

I'm so weird...but I have the coolest dog EVER!!!!

Oh What a Day

So my wife told me that I would be the one to have to enter this post... "if you don't I will" was her wording, and as every husband knows, that's when it's time to come clean.

Really the day has been uneventful past lunch time, but it was quite the adventure this morning.

I was up late last night working on some projects, and so I didn't crawl into bed until after midnight. Needless to say I was not very cooperative with the alarm this mroning, and my hand seemed to be on auto-snooze. So I got a little bit of a late start on my morning, and realized that I had to rush out the door to make it in time to catch my usual 8:20 bus. This is the bus that drops me off a few minutes before 9, and gets me into my office at a comfortable starting hour. I had been planning on taking my tax documents to work to finish them up at lunch, but there was no time to run up and get them from the office.

I kissed Jana goodbye and drove to the park and ride. I made it just in time, but as I approached the bus I realized that my pockets seemed rather full. I reach my hand in to discover that I had BOTH my keys AND Jana's. So now I had stranded my wife at home without any option of leaving until I got home after 6. I called her, and after a short discussion I decided it best to head back home and give her the keys to her car. I would hate to leave the pregnant lady home alone with no transportation!

So off we go to the house. I get there and decide that I should go ahead and grab the tax papers while I was there so I ran up... but it took a few minutes to find them. Dang, now I am going to miss the 8:40 bus.

I head BACK to the park n ride, and sure enough, I find myself climbing onto the 9:00 bus. Now, this requires a little explanation. Every bus before 9 goes straight from Kingwood to downtown, approximately 40 minutes. After 9 they stop at 2 other park n rides on the way, 1 hour ride.

I settle into my seat on the nearly empty bus and prop my knees up against the chair in front of me. At the next stop some guy who must bathe in $2 cologne got on and sat, of all places, in the seat in front of me and proceeds to lean his seat back with all his weight onto my knees! Ugh.

After all that, I am exhausted and close my eyes for a quick cat nap. This is standard for me, I sleep on the ride about 1/3 of the time. Well this time I woke up on the south side of town, a good 20 blocks from my office. I SLEPT THROUGH MY STOP.

The worst part was, I knew I had gone too far, but I had no idea where I was. I got off the bus and just sort of started walking in the general direction I believed to be north. Turns out I was right, but it was still a long, hot, muggy walk with my heavy backpack on my back to top it all off.

So I rolled into the office around 10:20 this morning.

Hi Everyone! I know that I have posted a lot today, and I will need to for the next couple of days. Birthday Cards for the Online Shopper!

Okay, so I'm an online shopper! I'll admit it. I work from home and I'm going to be a stay at home mom. So, the easiest way to get my shopping done these days is over the internet or phone. One thing that I try to do consistently is, send out Birthday cards. I'm not a phone person, so sending a card on a special days makes me feel a little bit better about not being connected as much as most people. Of course, sending all these cards out requires that I get out and buy cards! I have found an easy solution to that problem...online Birthday Cards! This site has some awesome cards and they range from traditional to fun to artsy and cutsy. There is a card to fit anyone and everyone's personality! One of my favorites is this one...
The site is really easy to navigate and has cards for every occasion. They even have cards that relate to the corporate world. I find this useful because my husband still works in the corporate world, so I can just add cards he might use to my order! This is such a simple and wonderful way to get the greeting cards my family my family needs without adding another errand to my list of places to go and things to do! Lamps are here!

We got our lamps today, so our bedroom is almost complete. We just need to change the drapes and paint. I think it will be awhile before we paint. Travis already has so many projects on his list and I'm not going to be here to help with the master bathroom. That is going to be such a big project, but so cool when it is done. Here is our bedroom for now....

Weekend Fun and Motherly Worries

This weekend was a lot of fun! On Friday, Travis and I had a date night. We stayed close to home, but first went to Babies R Us to see if they had any changing tables that we liked. We haven't really fallen in love with any of the changing tables out there, but we are still looking. Any advice, comments on what you love about your changing table, or suggestions on things not to get...would be awesome! After a little shopping, we went and bought Tiger Woods 2008 Pro Golf game for the Wii. Travis was sooo excited about getting this game. Plus, he wanted to make Winkle Danny jealous. :) After that, we went to Rico's...the best Mexican restaurant I have been to in a loooong time. We had dinner and then went home to play some golf. Not to brag...but I beat my husband!! I'm a pregnant lady, whose tummy is protuding a lot more than usual and I out drove my husband on every hole! I was so proud. But, he did beat me a few times!

Saturday we slept in (YAY) and then started our morning with a little golf. Okay okay...I'm addicted! I love the game!! :) Anyway, after a game of golf, we got to work. Travis did the yard work (mowed, trimmed, mulched, picked up our doggies' waste, etc) and then worked some on his lumber rack for the garage (I love my man in a toolbelt)! While he was outside doing all of his work, I was inside doing mine. I cleaned out my closet and got the bathroom and bedroom organized. Then we headed to Home Depot. We want to tile and paint the master bathroom floor so we went to pick out the tile and the paint for the walls. We picked out the tile and had to get the guys who worked there to bring down another pallet of tile. While we were waiting, Travis spotted a very cool design that he wants to do with the tiles. So, naturally, we spent more money! :) I love Home Depot...but our bank account does not. Anyway, the design is really hard to describe without pictures, so I will just take a picture when it is all done and post it. It is going to look really really cool!

Sunday, we went to church and had a great class and worship service. Afterwards, we had our class and Travis' parents over for a bbq. It was a blast! Our preacher, Bob, is also our class teacher and he was able to join us with his wife Teri. They are soo much fun! We had hamburgers and hotdogs and lots of other goodies on the side. After we ate, some of the boys played....you guessed it...golf! Bob (the preacher) got into too! He was so fun to watch and seemed to have a really good time. Here are a few pics...

This morning, when we let the dogs out of their kennels to go potty and eat, we noticed that Cooper's left eye was swollen. When I first noticed it, he wasn't opening it at all. Within about 10 minutes he could open it, but we could tell it wasn't comfortable. So, I took him in to the vet. There were no visible scratches on his eye and nothing stuck under either of his eye lids. So, the doc just gave us some drops for him and we are supposed to go back on Monday, April 7th to get him checked out again. Now, here is the funny part...Cooper was scheduled to get fixed tomorrow. Because the doctor wants to see him again in a week, he suggested that we just postpone the surgery and check the eye at the same time. Travis and I think that Cooper knew and wanted to stop us from getting him fixed! haha What a smart dog! This is the second time we have had to reschedule his surgery. I will get him fixed...eventually!

Interest Only Mortgage Payments - Helpful or Harmful?!

I read an article today about interest only mortgage payments. The title of the article was "Interest-only mortgages can help young professionals." What?!
When I think of young professionals, I think of people just out of college or people who have just started to establish themselves in an industry. Usually, these types of people already have a lot of debt from student loans, credit cards, cars, etc. Now, we are all taught that making the minimum payments on anything is a bad thing! You aren't paying off anything, just maintaining a level of debt with a really good payment record. If you are only adding more purchases and additional loans, that doesn't help you at all! As a Christian, I believe that we are to be good stewards of God's gift (money). We aren't supposed to owe anything and if we do, pay it back as soon as possible. Travis and I are in the process of paying all of our debt off and we plan to be debt-free by the end of 2009. What a great feeling! But how would that be possible if we only pay the minimum payments.
On the other hand, the article mentioned that this allowed for the individual to control how much of the actual loan amount to pay off every month. This could be positive, in that it allows the person to pay off as much of the principle as they want, with one payment. There isn't anyone taking another percentage of the interest from the additional payment. However, in the article is says that it "does not mean that they will be beating the interest rates but they will feel a "little more in control" as they know they can "do it whenever they want". " Again...what?! I would love to have faith that everyone out there is better at saving than me! But, how realistic is that? Unless the person is set up to receive a huge bonus at the end of the year that they planned on putting completely toward the mortgage, I don't see how this would be helpful.
Being an owner of two houses right now, this just doesn't seem like an option I would go for.
There are so many great mortgage options out there that help first time buyers and financially strapped individuals to achieve ownership of a home without putting their credit scores in danger.

Nesting and House Projects

Alright, it is official (I think it is a little early, but) I am in my nesting stage! It is crazy! All of a sudden I want all the house projects taken care of and furniture bought for each room. My wonderful husband has taken this swift kick to the buttocks very well (he is the one in charge of most of the labor these days). He has gotten so excited about each project and I'm soo glad!

On Tuesday evening we went to the Room Store to "scope out" some furniture we might be interested in. Yup...we walked out of there buying a bedroom set and an over-stuffed chair (for those middle-of-the-night feedings) and ottoman. They were delivered today!

Tonight we went to Home Depot (Travis' 2nd home) to look at and get some ideas on tile and paint for the master bathroom. That is right...we came home with enough tile to do a really cool pattern on the floor and some really neat paint! Travis is going to be really busy when I go spend a week in Arlington! He is so excited about getting started on the bathroom. I am very thankful to have a husband who has a passion for house projects and doesn't complain about "one more thing to do". He is soooo good to me!

After the master bathroom we want to redo the kitchen. I think that is going to have to wait for awhile. We have spent our home improvement budget for the next few months! We definitely want the kitchen painted by the time Jayden comes, but the counter tops, sink and appliances will have to wait until after the new addition. Oh yea, and...living room furniture.

We have the paint for the office, so we will probably get that done before she comes, but that is as far as I can hope to get with the home projects before Jayden graces us with her presence.

We will be sure and keep you updated on the progress as we make some! :) For now, we are content to be spending our first night with our new bedroom furniture! Yay!

1st Anniversary!

I have a lot to write about on here, but I will use the next few calm days to catch up on the news.

As most of you know, Travis and I just celebrated our 1st wedding anniversary! Our anniversary was on St. Patrick's Day! Travis had to work, but we made plans to have a special dinner together. When he came home from work, he rang the front door bell and surprised me with flowers and chocolates! Okay...the flowers are a BIG deal! Travis does not do flowers. He got me a single rose for my 16th birthday, then 9 years later, he got me a bouquet of flowers for my 25th birthday and now (2 years later) he got flowers for our 1st anniversary. Needless to say that when I get flowers from my hubby...it makes me really really happy!! :)

Anyway, dinner got put on hold because Travis wasn't feeling very well when he came home. We spent the night together just enjoying each other's company. It was actually a great way to just remember how much we mean to each other and just exactly why we decided to spend forever together.

So much has happened this year. We got married, remodeled a home, moved to Kingwood, started new jobs and got pregnant! We are so excited to see what year #2 has in store!

Back On Track!

The nursery is done (okay, not the furniture, but the walls)! WooHoo!! I love it! I am so excited about bringing Jayden home to her room. We added a little flare to the room. Two walls are brown and two are pink. Our theme is Winnie the Pooh, but we are including all the characters. The only one we don't have in there right now is Eeyore, but that is only because the Hufalump has apparently taken over his spot. Two Steps Forward...

Okay, so this is the first post that I am putting up here... since I am horrible about keeping up with my own blog, and most of you have given up on it (or didn't know it existed in the first place) I have decided to put up periodic posts on here.

Well, this one seemed like a very appropriate one to begin with.

So you know the saying that a picture says a thousand words... well let's see what this sequence of pictures has to say.

So yes, the pink and blue room is now a pink and brown room! All within 48 hours. So now the thousand words...

This all started when we decided to go to Baby's R Us and register for the new arrival. We roamed the store with one of those really cool scanner guns that allowed me to entertain myself by shooting every bar code in sight... well at least those that my wife approved. That was enough to keep me busy for tha majority of the three hours we spent roaming around that place.

So after bottles, nipples, blankies, bath toys, pumps, pampers and all that jazz we finally make it to the fun stuff... strollers! I'm a big fan of this stuff cause it's functional, in fact they even have strollers made by Jeep!

Well as we were picking out all our stuff we had picked out plenty of Winnie the Pooh, and pink things for my little girl... but when we got to the strollers I was surprised when Jana had fallen in love with a stroller that was pink and brown! For someone who is not a big fan of pink, she sure loved this stroller. We also found the same pattern for the bouncy chair. So we have now managed a vertiable schmorgasboard (sp?) of colors for this poor child of ours.

It was when we passed the bedding in the back of the store and Jana once again fell in love with a pattern of... you guessed it, pink and brown. It was here that I said to her "You know I love it too but I don't think it will go with the pink and blue in the room... maybe we should rethink our paint job..."

The look on her face said it all, and off we went to Home Depot.

The new coat went on really fast, and we've yet to see if it needs another coat, but I think we are both really pleased with the decsion... Jana's office will get the left over blue so it's not going to waste, but for those who are interested our nursery colors are officially and PERMANENTLY pink and brown.

It just goes to show you... Jayden hasn't even left the womb, and already has her daddy wrapped around her finger. I am in trouble!

Making Progress!

Ali and Travis rocked last night! As soon as Travis got home they got to work on the nursery. Every wall is painted and the pink walls are the only ones that need a second coat. The nursery should be finished tonight! I actually really like the way it all looks together. The pink, I will have to get used to, but it doesn't look bad!! Yay! I love the way the room looks and feels now.

So, they had a little fun while they worked! :)

I think we have decided to use the green paint (that we had originally planned to use in the nursery) in the office. Now I'm on a home improvement kick!! Yay!

Nursery Decisions!

So...God was up in Heaven thinking, "Travis and Jana Kay have been married for a year now and still have not had a major disagreement. Let's stir things up. I know...let's give them a girl!"

I am sooo excited about having a little girl!! The more I think about it the more excited I get about dressing her up and playing with her. So, the other day Travis and I went to Home Depot to pick out the colors for the nursery. I'm not into the girlie colors like pink and purple. Travis, however, likes them! So, after I had a complete break down in the middle of Home Deopt, we came to a compromise. We picked a couple of colors that we both liked for the nursery, and neither one of them were pink. I was happy. Then, the more we thought about it, Travis kept going back to the pink. So...I revisited the idea of pink in the nursery. Okay okay...I finally opened my stubborn head and considered pink for the first time! Another compromise was found. We are doing two walls in blue and two walls in pink. I think it is going to look awesome! We begin painting tonight so I will post pictures in a couple of days.

We have a guest for a whole week! My friend Ali is here for her spring break and we are gong to have fun! She is going to help Travis paint the nursery since I can't be around the paint. She is so awesome! She helped us install the bamboo floors in our house in Austin too. Wow...we just put her to work! :) I'll be sure and post plenty of pictures of them in action.

We had a good weekend at the Zoo and I will post pictures of that later. For now...I'm going to play!
